I thought that this page I would tell some of the funny delivery encounters we've had.
Mother's Day I had to deliver out to a house on acreage. Not a problem, arrived, no animals in sight, and a car in the drive. Great!! I say to myself, someone is home, leaving my phone in the car, I go through the gate, up the path, and begin knocking loudly on the front door.
Oooops... no one was home!! with the exception of 3 dogs!! Here I was holding a vase of tulips.. LOL.. with 3 dogs, speeding around the corner of the house, barking madly. OH Gosh.. it was about a half hour of chatting and such (with the doggies), before I could actually get the delivery to a safe place to leave it for the owners. Then of course I had to slowly and carefully walk away and down the path, with the 3 dogs still checking me out.
Lucky people ... they almost got home to a few chewed up petals, and a chomped on florist.
Our most recent encounter with the 'other' side came oneday when I was delivering a balloon bouquet.
Sounds fairly simple unless it happened to be on the day that gale force winds hit Caboolture. To be honest I felt like a soon to be Mary Poppins. So clutching the strings to the balloons, fighting the wind between the van and the front door, I knocked.
Imagine my face with the recipient, who was a very funny man, looked at me and asked "are you sure you've got the right house?" Yes I did have the right house, I think he'd just enjoyed me battling balloons too much
