here is a link to my 5 minutes of fame. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be dancing (and miming badly) in a youtube video... BUT I AM!!!!
This amazing woman Dee Handyside is a longtime friend of mine, we met in an online breast cancer support group. Dee has battled cancer, and during her journey released an album 'Genetics'. While she's been busy achieving all those things, she's been a wonderful support to me, and the other ladies who appear in the clip.
Truly the inspiration, Dee has now realised an itunes single http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR2Nz0UyHIs
'Thank you Friends' all funds from the sale of this single will go to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
Enjoy the song, look out for me, and if you are moved then please show your support by purchasing the album or single... dont forget to share the link with all your friends.
thank you
Michelle

Hello I’m Michelle Beavis, the owner of Wicked Stems.
Many of you receiving this flyer have met me on deliveries, or you have spoken to me when placing orders for your flowers. Here’s a little bit about me, and why the BCNA is so vitally important.
In 2006 at the age of 42 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I am what’s known as a ‘young one’. Fortunately a lady I knew introduced me to a publication called the ‘Beacon’. From there I was able to telephone the BCNA, and was sent information about Breast Cancer, treatments, information for my family and friends, and a special ‘my journey’ kit.
My journey encompassed two surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation. I died, I was revived. I learnt that heroes are everyday people you and I call family and friends. I discovered that my rock is my faith and support and understanding can come from the most amazing and interesting places. With the information from the BCNA I was able to feel informed about treatments and the hurdles I was facing.
Its now 2011, over the last 5 years I have made many friends through the free BCNA information lectures and support services, along with a group of ladies I call ‘sisters’ at the Aussie Breast Cancer Forum. I’ve lost friends along the way, wonderful women and men who have fought a tremendous battle and lived life to the very fullest.
I feel very blessed to be living my dream – being a florist - and in a position where I am able to give back to those who have made mine, and so many others journeys do-able. In organising this BCNA fundraiser, I celebrate all the ladies and men I have met.
‘To small victories and huge losses’
